David R. Addelman has successfully completed hundreds of trials. Areas of practice include criminal defense, Immigration Court matters and civil trials in both State and Federal courts. Our firm prosecutes and defends appeals in both State and Federal Appellate courts. Mr. Addelman's experience in successfully conducting trials and other types of hearings, and in arguing cases on appeal, allows him to efficiently prepare and handle the firm's civil and personal injury cases. His United States Immigration Court practice includes deportation defense, asylum, cancellation of removal, suspension of deportation and adjustment of status. Mr. Addelman has successfully tried criminal cases charging murder, drug offense, DWIs and many other offenses. In addition, Mr. Addelman handles family based immigration cases, estate/probate matters and divorce and Family Court cases.
Mr. Addelman is admitted to practice in New York State Supreme Court, New York State Supreme Court's Appellate Division, United States District Court, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, US
Bankruptcy Court and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (also known as Immigration Court). He is a 1983 graduate of the SUNY at Buffalo School of Law and has over twenty-two (22) years of experience practicing law in Western New York. Mr. Addelman is formerly a member of the firm of Addelman & Marszalkowski P.C., a firm which consistently received the highest rating (A), as rated by Martindale-Hubble.
The firm's clients are ably assisted by paralegal Beth A. Atwood who is a cum laude graduate of Canisius College (1988) and the Philadelphia Institute for Paralegal Training (1989). She has worked with Mr. Addelman since 1992. Mrs. Atwood has extensive experience in providing litigation support in all areas in which this firm practices.
Natasha Blyashuk joined the firm in 2007 as a legal assistant. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo (2008) and has a background in working on immigration matters (family based petitions, naturalization). Ms. Blyashuk is a native of Belarus and speaks fluent Russian.
