Immigration Law

The firm is experienced in handling Immigration Court (Executive Office for Immigration Review) cases. We have successfully litigated numerous cases involving deportation defense, asylum, cancellation of removal, suspension of deportation, adjustment of status and voluntary departure.  The firm is also experienced in handling appellate issues before the Board of Immigration Appeals, as well as applications brought before US District Courts and the US Court of Appeals

Some of our recent successes include:

  • Obtained Withholding of Removal Order in Immigration Court hearing.  This result allowed client to remain indefinitely in the United States despite being charged with overstaying his status as a student.  Case currently on appeal.  If successful on appeal, this cient may be eligible for lawful permanent residence status.
  • Decision from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals on Petition for Review reversing a decision by the Board of Immigration Appeals.  The Federal Appellate Court decision will likely allow an asylum applicant to avoid deportation to a country where his life and liberty would be threatened.
  • Succeeded in obtaining asylum for an Immigrant who had been ordered deported from both the US and Canada.  This case was publicized by Canadian TV, radio and newspapers due to the interest generated in our client as a spokesman in Canada and due to the fat that this was one of the few times in Canadian history that a person seeking sanctuary in a church was arrested by Canadian authorities.
